Which Console Should I Buy?  

As the Microsoft Xbox continuously trailing Sony PS4 form previous months and both Sony and Microsoft are updating their consoles with software updates, new features and other unique selling points.   The PS4 is still proving to be the people’s favorite, with stock shortages still a regular occurrence. But Microsoft is fighting back, with the Kinect-free Xbox One and an entourage of incoming game hardware bundles. Overall, the Xbox One is a more rounded entertainment system, but it’s all down to your personal preferences. The decision is far from clear cut.    To help you work out which console is right for you, we give some of the top reason to buy either Xbox one or Playstation 4, so you can make an informed decision in your Xbox One vs PS4 debate.

• Larger size may mean it’s more reliable long-term  The huge console size of the Xbox One gives air more room to circulate, which is likely to ensure the console does not overheat even when under strain for prolonged periods.     
• Kinect is undeniably cool  Not everyone likes Kinect, but it has serious potential that you don’t get with the PS4 camera. For example, you can use it to control the console, swiping in the air to perform commands.      
• Wider distribution of Kinect will mean for more interesting motion gaming  Now that the Xbox One will ship without the Kinect in some bundles this might not be as much of a benefit, but the Kinect sensor means that developers will be able to more confidently put Kinect features into their games.      
• It acts as a hub for your other home entertainment gear  You can plug another piece of hardware into your Xbox One using its HDMI input. This lets you switch between, say, your digibox and the Xbox One, using the Xbox interface. There’s only one input, but if you use a receiver it’s all you’ll need.

• It’s not all about cable integration  If you’re not lucky enough to have access to TV services like Sky or Virgin Media, from October you can purchase the Xbox One Digital TV Tuner accessory for £24.99. This will let you feed Freeview and other free-to-air TV platforms into the Xbox One too.     
• EA Access is only available on Xbox One  EA’s new subscription gaming service is exclusive to Xbox One. So if you’re a particular fan of EA titles you can pay £3.99 for free unlimited access to a select collection of games via the EA Access Vault.    
• 3D Blu-ray support is finally here  After a lengthy wait, you can finally watch your 3D Blu-ray titles on your Xbox One – if that’s your bag.     
• You can plug in an external hard drive for additional storage  One of the most requested features was external hard drive support for the Xbox One. Well, now you can use up to two external hard drives at once. Each one has to be 256GB or larger, but once it has been formatted, it can be used to store games, apps, DLC and other content if your Xbox One is getting full.     
• The media player will add tunes to your entertainment system  Although the media player hadn’t arrived at the time of writing, Microsoft promises a future update will let you play media files on your Xbox One via a USB device. You will also be able to stream your media files over a Wi-Fi network using DLNA, just as you could on the Xbox 360. There will also be more file support, including animated gifs, mkv and mpeg 2 TS.     
• Xbox One finally has Games with Gold perks  As you do with the Xbox 360, you now get two free games a month for the Xbox One with an Xbox Live Gold membership. You also get access to Deals with Gold too, giving you significant savings within the Xbox One Games Store.             

Top reasons to pick a PlayStation 4  

•  It’s much smaller than an Xbox One  If you have a cramped lounge/bedroom, the smaller size of the PS4 will come in handy. It is much, much smaller than the Xbox One.      
• It doesn’t have a separate power brick  Also important, the PS4 incorporates its own power supply while the Xbox One has a separate power brick. This is a big win if you want to take the console around a friend’s house as it’s a good deal lighter.      
• The PS4 is more powerful  The PS4 has a significantly more powerful GPU – graphics processing unit – than the Xbox One. It’s about 50 per cent more powerful.      
• Remote Play for Vita is awesome  This one only matter for PS Vita owners, but the PS4’s Remote Play is pretty neat. It lets you play full PS4 games on your Vita over your Wi-Fi connection.      
• Playstation TV will let you play your PS4 elsewhere in the house  The Playstation TV announced at E3 2014 will let you stream and play games on any TV in your house. There's a bit of lag and the graphics lack some detail but it's super-useful if your main TV is often taken up by couch potatoes watching soaps. The Playstation TV will retail for $99 when it goes on sale.     
• PlayStation Plus’s free games plan is great  The PS Plus service costs about £40 a year, but it gets you free games every month. And at present it’s better than the freebie games offering you get with an Xbox One through Live Gold.      
• The PS4 controller is better  We think the PS4 controller is better than the Xbox One’s. This one will divide opinions, but we’re not fans of the clicky triggers on the Xbox One pad.      
• PS4 gets 3D Blu-ray support too  Just like the Xbox One, the PS4 also now has 3D Blu-ray support. However, there’s no word on media support for the PS4 anytime soon.      
• PS4 Share Play is going to be a huge new feature  Arriving with the autumn PS4 system update, Share Play is a brand new feature that will create what Sony is calling a “virtual couch”. It creates a local co-op experience but all online, meaning you can invite your friend to play with you, even if they don’t actually own the game. Each session has an hour time limit, but there’s apparently no limit as to the number of sessions you can have.

Is Microsoft learning from Ubuntu, an open source platfrom

As the releasing date of windows 9 coming closer and closer more leaks are coming out.

 All these leaked photos of the Windows Technical Preview are shedding light on what the next version of Windows will look like. The Start Menu, which was killed off by Microsoft Corp. after Windows 7 in favor of the touch friendly Metro interface found in Windows 8, will be resurrected in Windows 9. Microsoft announced the inclusion of a new, hybrid Start Menu at its Build Conference, earlier this year. Thanks to photos and videos that have leaked, we now have a better idea of how this “smart” Start Menu will work.

Some of the other features are notification center, run metro apps in desktop mode.

But one feature is the virtual desktops, Virtual desktops, a feature that allows users to create, save, and easily switch between multiple desktop configurations, has been available in competing operating systems, like Ubuntu, for some time. With it, a user could have a desktop with several image and video editing applications open and running, and then switch to a different desktop used for browsing the web, or one with a running game, waiting to resume progress. It’s a useful way to manage system resources, as well as screen real estate

Ubuntu is an open source platform free to use and best alternative to Microsoft windows Operating System. After watching the leaked video of virtual desktops what we assume, is Microsoft learning from Open source Ubuntu, is Ubuntu is richer in features than Windows or something else.

Windows 9 Support virtual desktops,

We have seen that Microsoft will be including the virtual desktops features thanks to recent leaked screen shots from windows technical preview.

The video shows that users can create up to 7 different “virtual desktops”, but it remains unclear if the number of desktops is limited to the screen size and how it is going to work with multiple monitor setup.

We can also see that users can easily create new virtual desktops by simply clicking the plus (+) button and users can easily remove them by clicking the (X).

Multi-desktop is a versatile feature, while on a new desktop users can open as many apps as they want, then when is time to switch simply click the “multi-desktop” icon in the taskbar. Hovering over each desktop brings a listing of all the apps open in a particular desktop, and users can even close app right from the preview.

Here is the thing… When launching, if that particular apps is already open on a different desktop, Windows 9 won’t open another instance of the application, instead users will be taken to the desktop that has that app running. Users will notice about this action, because in the taskbar will be a marker in the icon of the apps that is running on another desktop.

This feature seems to be an advanced version of CTRL+TAB, because it basically works in the same way.

Windows 9 Notification Center in action, Video

Windows 9 code name threshold, Microsoft upcoming Version of Desktop Operating System, leaks of which are keep coming.

Today another leak is came out which is the notification center in the windows 9.

The Windows 9 Notification Center collects toasts and alerts from traditional Windows applications and system notifications, alongside those generated from Windows 8-style apps. Skype is demonstrated in the video, showing the usual toast and the notifications grouped in the notification center by app and time. The Notification Center in Windows 9 appears to lack any actionable notifications, meaning you can’t reply to Skype messages within the feature itself. That could change by the time Windows 9 ships next year, and the upcoming Windows Technical Preview only provides an early look at the upcoming changes Microsoft is planning. Either way, a Notification Center is a welcome addition for Windows users who may miss the individual notifications otherwise. Microsoft is expected to release its Windows Technical Preview later this month or in early October.

Is Cortana coming to Windows 9.

Microsoft recently added digital voice assistant to his own windows phones OS as the apple having Siri and Goolge have Google Now but both are not equal to Microsoft digital assistant named Cortana.
After the release of Cortana, people asking Microsoft wether this feature will be available in Microsoft major operating system windows desktop.
Since the leaked screenshots of windows 9 code name threshold many of the features coming to windows 9 has been confirmed. But until now we only heard a few rumors about Cortana digital assistant coming to windows 9

Today looking to one of the leak screenshots of the new Start menu hints the first evidence of Cortana integration in Windows 9 with an entry for “Remind Me”, which is part of Cortana’s notebook found in Windows Phone 8.1. Even though, we know Cortana will eventually find her home in Windows, the new Remind Me entry in the Start menu could also a be only a way to edit your current reminders for your Windows Phone.

Early rumors suggested that Cortana was being tested on Microsoft’s internal builds as an app. And the Remind Me app listed in the Start menu, could be the first sign of the company bringing its Windows Phone digital assistant to the desktop.

This is of course the first of many builds before the final release and Microsoft isn’t including all the features and UI changes, all at once. There is a lot planned and a lot of things being tested outside of the partner builds.
